Sarah Brown joined the UNL faculty in January 2004. Her years as a professional ballet dancer were with Omaha Theatre Ballet. Performance highlights include Coppelia, Firebird, Beauty and the Beast, Napoli, Tarantella, Paquita, Les Patineurs, Un Petite Cadeau and Orpheum Nutcracker. Her time at OTB also included appearances with Opera Omaha, the Omaha Symphony, and Joslyn Museum of Art. As a teacher with Omaha Theater Ballet Dance, Sarah participated annually in extensive educational outreach programs. She earned her BA in Dance Pedagogy from Butler University, while dancing in works such as Giselle, Les Sylphides, and Petrouchka. She has worked under Donald Byrd, Norman Walker, and Judith Fugate. Sarah also currently serves as Ballet Mistress at Dancerschool, has experience as a regional dance competition judge, and pre-performance speaker at the Lied Center.
